Skyline Speedway to Host Harvest 50 Saturday October 7th

October 6, 2017

(Stewart, Ohio) An exciting evening of racing is in store at the Skyline Speedway this Saturday October 7th, as the tracks hosts what will be the 38th running of the Harvest 50! This year's Harvest 50 special will pay a cool $3,000 to win for Late Models, along with a $1,000 to win Modified shootout plus racing in the Sport Mod, 4-Cylinder and WRA Mini Wedge classes!

The popular event which has become a staple in the Ohio Valley racing calendar, is expected to one again be a hit with race fans, especially after the ultra-exciting 2016 running of the special event. Led by promoter Steve Curtis and staff, the track has seen a revival in 2017, and this Saturday's Harvest 50 will showcase just that!

The Late Model portion of the event is sure to be a hit with fans, as the track has delivered some exciting moments throughout the season. 2017 AMRA Late Model Champion Tyler Carpenter has dominated much of the season at Skyline, but regional hot shoe Corey Conley is expected to reignite the duo's fierce battle's from the early portion of the season. Track officials expect to see a long familiar face and Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Delmas Conley along with the Conley race team to invade Skyline Saturday night, as well as this past Sunday's Steel Block standouts Clint Keenan and Georgia's Aaron Wilson, and even local standout Chris Carpenter all on hand, as they look for that coveted Harvest 50 title.

However, while a nice group of regional talents are expected to drop in for Saturday's event, fans must not forget to keep their eye on Skyline's weekly talents such as Andy Bond, Zach Milbee, Ralph Withem, Kody Frame, and Brandon Francis who have all knocked on the door of their first win of 2017, and hope to do so this Saturday.

(Another track favorite and former Harvest 50 winner Bob Adams Jr will join the field on Saturday night, as he along with Mike McDaniel, and Tyler Carpenter all look to capture yet another Harvest 50 title)

In addition to the Late Model portion of the event, Modifieds will do battle for a $1,000 top prize come Saturday night. If last Saturday's Modified feature s any indication of what fans will see this week, fans should expect a top notch show! Local veteran John Burdette has momentum on his side after a thrilling win over Tyler Carpenter last week. However, the Bond's of Larry, Kyle and Andy are all looking to take home a win on the big night of racing along with other track favorites such as DJ Cline, Tyler Carpenter, Nick Corbitt, and Mike McPherson all look to pick up the cool $1,000 prize.

*The Modified portion of this weeks show will be extra exciting as both Kenny Johnson leads Travis Dickson in track points, but the two have commitments away from racing which could surrender the points lead to Kyle Bond if Kyle can make up the point different come Sunday.

As noted above, the Sport Mods and 4-Cylinder classes are all set to do battle Saturday evening as apart of the special program. These classes have produced plenty of racing excitement throughout the year and with names such as James Dennis, Kendall Hodge, Rick Kapple, Ron Pickens all contending in the Sport Mods, plus Randy Wise, Tom Adkins, Dennis Adkins, Jeff Rankin and more contending in the 4-Cylinder, fans are sure to witness plenty of action throughout these classes respective program. Mini Wedges which will kick off the evening at 6, will be highlighted by the final Mike's Mayhem Series event presented by Mike Martin and is sure to be a hit as the young stars of tomorrow get to race in front of the big crowd on the exciting event of racing!
